About the Presenter

With an extensive background in Montessori education, school administration, and childhood development, Tamara Sheesley Balis' life work is to support and cultivate cultures of belonging in families, schools, and organizational communities. For the past 24 years, she has been a dedicated Montessorian, serving as the Head of School at Greenspring Montessori School in Baltimore, Maryland since 2012. Tamara also serves as the Executive Director of Greenspring Center for Lifelong Learning. Tamara's passion for fostering inclusive environments led her to Montessori education and the study of leadership practices, effective communication, and positive psychology. Currently pursuing her MEd in Integrative Learning with an emphasis in Montessori School Leadership, Tamara has presented at national conferences, worked as a consultant, contributed articles to publications, and produced educational materials on Montessori principles. She is the proud parent of two Montessori children.
