About the Presenters

Philip Snow Gang, Ph.D., is the founder of The Institute for Educational Studies (TIES) graduate programs in Integrative Learning and Montessori Integrative Learning. He has been a friend of the Montessori family since the mid-70s. Phil is the author of Rethinking Education (1989) and Conscious Education (1992). He also created the mobile mind-mapping simulation, Our Planet, Our Home (1988). His most recent book is Educating for Right-Action and Love: Exploring and Expanding the Montessori Vision (2020). Brian Thomas Swimme, Ph.D., is an evolutionary cosmologist who weaves together science and spirituality. He is the Director of the Third Story of the Universe at Human Energy and author of Cosmogenesis: An Unveiling of the Expanding Universe (2023), The Universe is a Green Dragon (1984), The Hidden Heart of the Cosmos (1996). He co-authored The Universe Story with Thomas Berry (1992) and The Journey of the Universe with Mary Evelyn Tucker (2011). Swimme is also the creator of an educational video series for The Center for the Story of the Universe: Canticle to the Cosmos, The Earth’s Imagination, and The Powers of the Universe. He co-wrote and hosted the 60-minute film Journey of the Universe, broadcast on PBS television stations nationwide. If he had the chance to do it all over again, he would enter the world of Montessori!
